This summer, through the Ventura Education Partnership (VEP), several academies will be taking place at Ventura High School that may be of interest to those who participated in VCYTC/Youth Track this year.
Ventura High will be hosting a Long Jump / Sprint academy geared towards 3rd-6th graders from 6/26 – 6/30 from 9:00am-1:00pm. The day camp will focus mainly on proper technique in long jump, sprints, and the 4x100m relay. Each day will be broken up into 2 sessions on the track with one to two classroom sessions watching short video clips. The week will end with a mini track meet.
Athletes are asked to come dressed to run, and bring spikes if they have them (although spikes are not mandatory).
The academy is $195. It is run by Preston Biller, who has 20+ years’ experience coaching and competing in sprints and jumps.

7th Annual Co-Conference Championships @ Santa Barbara City College
This Saturday May 21st, 2016
Directions to SBCC:
We are right around the corner from our final Youth T&F Championships and into the 2nd round of Counties and Sectional pre-lims for the HS road to CIF. The PlyometricFusion-TC Per-Registration is now open to register for Post Season. This summer will be an exciting Post-Season with the Olympics in RIO also taking place as well. It’s also a blessing that we have a Junior Olympics right here in our own state for the USATF.
The entire track schedule is on the team web site so you can plan your summer and see what track meets work best with your family vacation schedule and other sport conflicts. Take advantage of the early-registration discounts. The early registration discount is only good from now to the 14th of May. General registration opens on the 15th and we will have tables at both the SCYTFC/VCYTFC Varsity Championships to register in person as well as try on sample uniforms to assure the correct size uniform for Post Season. We also have secured a discount if returning members would like to wear their uniform from last year.
PlyomtricFusion is not affiliated with VCYTC or any of its member clubs. VCYTC does encourage post season for athletes wanting to pursue a chance to compete in the Junior Olympics, but we don’t recommend one option over another. The post season options available to youth track athletes may vary from season to season, please discuss these options with your club/coaching staff.
The programs for tomorrows events are posted at the homepage of VCYTC along with shot put info for those cut short:
